From the tradition of "critical peace education" Werner Wintersteiner develops new perspectives for the self-image of peace education. The author begins with a critique of the "culture of war" and "cultural violence" (Galtung): The work on a "culture of peace" should become the link between the area of pedagogy and the development of society as a whole.
